Marléne Rothermel joined the TIE professional staff in 1996. Her educational journey, which began on May 12, 1946, was formalized with teaching certification in 1968 and has included education stops in South Dakota, Alabama, Minnesota, and Wyoming. Signposts along the way have included classroom experience in elementary and middle school mathematics, science, language arts, gifted education, and computer education. Leadership signposts have included project development and implementation in various areas of curriculum reform and teacher mentorship.
